I started out of design school at a magnet manufacturer, who did business out of a *haunted* Kansas City warehouse.
I began designing simple layout proofs for customers; we still took black and white mock-ups back then for color separations.
Later, buying from large scale printers, setting up press sheets, driving the production schedule, and calibrating software to produce best results on a Heidelberg DI press became my daily work.
