With online marketing, there's a debate among experts over which strategy is best to grow your business. Viral content is a real phenomenon associated primarily with social media but should it be considered a specific segment of marketing? In my opinion, viral marketing isn't actually a type of marketing but rather a byproduct of creating content that contains specific characteristics which drive viral sharing.

For someone outside of the surfing (and action sports) community it may seem like an easy formula.take a cool picture of a surfer on a wave in an exotic locale, add some clever copy based on nature or living outside the constraints of society, multiply, and you have a social media presence for a surf brand. One of the required readings for my graduate course in social media and the inspiration behind this blog post is the book Groundswell: winning in a world transformed by social technologies.

The book is a comprehensive look into how technology has revolutionized the business world.
Services
I graduated from the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!) with a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies.
My areas of focus were in business/professional writing, general law and a minor in Mass Communication.
I did not go to school with the intent to become a marketer.
It was through my studies in mass communication that I became aware of marketing's evolution away from mass media channels.
The marketing industry had come to embrace the art of storytelling (which I loved) so I decided to pursue a career in content marketing.
Social media marketing is no longer just an option.
It is a must.
It's not just the way people spend most of their "down" time, but it is the way your customers choose to engage with the brands they trust, and that is where our services come in.
We are writers at heart and marketers by experience.
That means we know how to connect with your target market by creating engaging content across all of your chosen social networks.
We understand that each industry accords its own dialogue, so we research and engross ourselves in learning the language in line with your company culture.
Other digital agencies like to show off large companies as "clients."
When in most cases, they've been contracted to do a small task for these corporate giants.
In reality, their work has little to do with the success of the companies in their portfolio.
That's not true for Moana Creative Marketing.
We focus on micro, small, and medium-sized businesses.
Our services and results are integral to their success, and we don't care about (or even really want) those large, corporate clients.
Acuity operates as a full-service real estate brokerage firm with capabilities in both the commercial and residential real estate sectors.
