Hansen's experience with the business of racing date to his first-ever job as assistant to IMS owner Anton 'Tony' Hulman.

Jason started racing when he was 6 years old in Karting, then he moved up to Legend Cars.
After finding success in Legend Cars, he moved on to NASCAR Late Models and Super Late Models.
Jason drove the #3 Late Model for DEI after Dale Earnhardt Jr moved to the Busch Series.
During his early career, Jason celebrated many accomplishments including 13 Late Model wins, 7 Late Model poles, and over 50 Legend Car wins.
In 1999 during a race Jason was involved in what he thought would be a career ending crash, sustaining multiple injuries.
